Prospect promotions (formally GFP promotions) first show was back in April 2014 when Matt Brennan decided to raise money for charity by boxing 10 rounds against 10 opponents. The show was a great success selling out at Kesgrave community centre and also raising over £10000!
The show inspired a new breed of Ipswich boxers who wanted to ‘give it a go’ and this prompted the evolution to the Charity concept of Prospect promotions. Suffolk Punch boxing club was formed and suddenly there was a team of boxers wanting to box in their home town.
Fast forward 4 years, 18 shows Prospect promotions has had over 200 boxers on our shows, over 100 produced by Suffolk Punch boxing club and have raised in excess of £50000 for charity.
Prospect promotions promoter Matt Brennan will have run 20 shows by the end of 2018, 15 of them at our home Trinity Park.
Going forward Prospect promotions are planning 4 shows in 2018 in Ipswich and a few more around East Anglia.
Prospect promotions now have the reputation of promoting the best shows in East Anglia. This is due to having a consistent team and professional level of referee’s, MC, ring girls, paramedics, security, logistics team, Trinity Park team as well as 50/50 matching!
From a safety point, every boxer has a full medical, when matching happens each coach will get to see footage of the possible opponent and also all our bouts are contested in 16 ounce gloves, everyone has to go to work on Monday morning so for us safety is paramount.
